What camera/lens setup are you using

I like the "fisheye" look. You must have taken them at 10mm...cool

Thanks Steve! I have a D80 with a bunch of lenses including an 18-200 f/3.5-5.6, a 50mm f/1.8, and a 28-75mm f/2.8. But you're right, these were taken with a 10.5mm f/2.8 fisheye, I borrowed it from a friend.

That's a great setup...those lenses cover all the bases. I'll bet the f1.8 & f2.8 produce some amazing pics

I have the 18-200mm/f3.5-5.6 but for my Canon XSi. Pretty good all around lens, but I'm not happy with the XSi. Nikon's seem to produce much better pictures

Thanks Ahmed! Yes, I guess I can call myself a photographer since it's quite a hobby for me. I use a DSLR which gives me considerably more control over the photos than a Cybershot would (i.e. I can use different lenses, manual settings, manual focus, off-camera flash, etc...).

With your Cybershot, the best thing you could do is use the flower option, which is the "macro" option, it allows the camera to focus much closer so you can get in-focus closeups of the watch. As for lighting, your best bet is to use natural light. Take photos of the watch in daylight but not directly under the sun, an overcast would be best because the clouds act as a massive diffuser for the sun.

Since the sapphire crystals tend to reflect everything, you could possibly put a big white bed sheet or piece of poster paper opposite the crystal so that it doesn't reflect things into the camera; that way you have a sharp and clean-looking crystal.
