Anyone considered polishing the centre links on a sub?

Hi.

I have read a number of post about people considering to get the PCL on their GMT IIc brushed. But I never read anyone considering polishing the centre links on a SS sub.

Why not? The TT sub have PCL's and polishing a sub isn't any worse than brushing a GMT IIc is it? Both are "frankenwatches"?

I have a TT Sub and while I like the look, I hate the maintenance!! IMHO the all-brushed oyster bracelet is the top watch bracelet in the world, its the standard bearer for all other watches

Well, the new sub is going to have it I guess, and the "old" TT and AG subs have it, so why is it so bad if the "old" SS sub have it?

The new sub better not have PCL's or Rolex just destroyed a great watch. Why would anyone want them on their tool watch.

The day a Sub has polished links is the day I start looking for another watch.

My two cents: if you never plan on selling the watch, then go for it! I like the PCL look much better. But if you think one day you would sell it, then don't polish them. It will drop the value since it's not original anymore.

IMO there is no chance the new SS sub will have PCL's.
Maxi case, black ceramic bezel and new slider bracelet but PCL's? Noooo.

We will know very soon and cringe at the price.

I love the unpolished links of my sub, I wear it everyday for many years and it still look great as you don't notice the scratches that much. NO PCL

My SS daytona has 3 tiny hairline scratches on the PCL, it's hard not to notice them. My GV is still free from scratch, but is just matter of time....

Totally agree. In fact, if the sub had PCL's, I probably would choose a different watch. PCL's is one of the main reasons I would not buy the new GMT IIc....now, if the GMT had brushed center links like the current sub, I would strongly consider purchasing one.

Interesting. It seems PCL's is something that people really feel strongly about.

It will be intersting to se what Rolex does with the SS version, considering that the new AG version has PCL's. Maybe they keep'em brushed becaurse SS version is more "tool" than the AG / TT versions. We will see
