Sea Dweller 43 Help

Hey guys, just got my SD 43 this morning. Killer watch, but I've noticed a couple things I find odd.

First, the winding does not feel how I expected it to feel. It's smoothing and has that real mechanical feeling and sound to it but the clicks aren't consistent. It's almost like one set of clicks are spaced closer together than another set. It feels and sounds totally different from my ExplorerII which has very definitive and evenly spaced clicks when winding.

Secondly I noticed that while setting the watch the seconds hand was moving ever so slight when turning the crown and setting the minutes. I've read that this can just be a symptom of the power reserve being depleted which would make sense since I just got the watch. However I've never seen this with my other hacking watches.

Thanks in advance.

Hey, congrats on the SD43! It's a fantastic reference....I would give it at least 40 full winds of the crown and wear it for a week or so before you start assessing the watch, let the watch operate and everything get a bit of wear.

I don't think the second hand should be moving at all if you're setting the minute hand though...

Congratulations on the new watch. Due to the mechanical nature of watches, the tactile feel of winding is potentially different between watches. Especially if you were used to other watches in your collection.

Congrats on your SD43. First thing first, wind the watch fully as "watchmework" said and then set the date and time. When the crown is in position 3, minutes hands engaged, seconds hand should be stopped.
winding sound is smooth on mine, barely audible but battery feel with good positive resistance.

As a fellow SD43 wearer I don't remember any issues when new.

Suggest as per others you give it a bit of time to start with and then see if things settle down.

Happy New Year in advance!
