My AD called me offering me any watch they have at the 2019 pricing. They have PM Daytona, skydweller, subs and as models as well. Seems like they are dead

Sales tactic.

Dec 31 vs. Jan 1 doesn't affect the cost of their existing inventory.

It also shouldn't make someone who was a "no thanks" on Dec 31 into a "yes please" on Jan 1.

edit: I believe he's referring to PM in all of those pieces. Unlikely an AD needs to do much leg work to move a SkyD at Dec 31 price or Jan 1 price.

Makes sense since everything they currently have in stock was likely stock they also had last year. That’s like marking up merchandise just so you can say it’s on sale at MSRP.

PM were already hard to move. Rolex made a mistake pushing those prices up, especially since the market is slowing. Add the financial and political context, and many ADs must be nervous right now.

Well, what’s that? A 10% discount on PM that they happen to have in stock (since they don’t have any easy-to-sell SS in stock)? Seems like they come out way ahead, since 10% would not have been enough last December. As mentioned above, just a sales tactic that will surely work on some.

Ghost AD's surface every now and then in the Bermuda Triangle. The prices they offer depend on when they went missing. I'm waiting for the call from the one that went missing in 1960. Their prices will be awesome.

According to my AD, they have to wait until a they receive an official letter from Rolex first telling them to increase prices. Odd if you think about it, you would expect AD's to be increasing the prices when they first get wind of them.

Nonetheless, hope you find you what you're looking for at a 2019 price.
