Old girl going in for Overhaul.

Sad day but last service was 2004, she’s going in for complete overhaul. See you in 8 weeks lol.

That's awesome - 16 years between service.

I dunno if I should say sorry or congrats :D
If indeed 16 years between service, i guess it's time:) Why did you decide it? running late?

Why are you not going to RSC? Unless your jeweler is sending back directly to RSC, if so, ignore the question!

Cool, Cory.

My 10 year old 14060M Submariner had to go in and is at Jewelers on Time right now. It sat around idle for TOO long a time and became gummed up, losing 1min 10sec per hour.

The preventive measure you are taking with the watch is a good choice.

Total is 1100 for complete overhaul, plus 100 or so for crystal. I requested that dial and hands are left alone. Told the AD I would in theory like to stay under 1500 for a complete overhaul and was told that shouldn’t be an issue.

Sad to see it go, as it was my everyday watch, but gives the others a chance in the rotation. Will be very stoked once it’s back home. ETA according to the AD for the overhaul is about 5-6 weeks per RSC Dallas. Again however long it takes, when it’s back it will be good as new.

Will post photo of the paperwork.

It will be perfect when you get it back. Does $1200 seem high for that piece?

Like yours, mine went through that a year ago. Here it is on its return. It'll be back before long and working strong for the next 10 years. About the same age as well!

I’m gonna be looking forward to it returning. Just hope it returns perfect.

Also to those who are asking, no I’m not having any heavy polishing done. But I do want the bezel brushed, case and bracelet. New crystal as mine has a small chip and obviously the full movement serviced as it’s been since 10/04.

Yeah it’s been a long haul, and was still keep great time, but just was the wear on it I figured what the heck, let’s just get an overhaul done and will be good as new again.

Take good care of it, or yourself and loved ones. Manage your money smartly and make good choices and there’s no reason to not have for many years. This is a watch that will never leave my side.

Thought it was high, just had my 16753 done for about 900 with a new gold crown. This number is what I was gonna say it shoul be around.
When I first went to drop mine off they quoted high and said that “sport watches are usually about that much” but gave a window of 750-1200. I said it was too big of a window and needed a more accurate number and the repair person from Rolex came up and went over it and said more 800-1000. I hope yours comes back to your liking.

I bought my 3186 black dial in 2012 and had it serviced in 2016 without polishing. Now it gain 2-3 seconds per day.

Can’t wait to see it when it comes back.

What else will you be wearing in the interim?

For someone like me who hasn't been through this process - I understand that they take the entire watch apart and get it running like new - but externally, does the polishing options RSC offers return the watch, aesthetically, to 'new'? The new crystal would certainly assist on a 16 year old watch - but what about the rest of the watch? What are the options they offer? I note that OP hasn't had certain parts polished? Thanks!
