It’s been through a couple collectors since he sold it and is now for sale at vintage concept in Hong Kong for a very long time.

I used to work with the guy who signed this off - Richard ‘Shorty’ Lougher. Ex clearance diver, I worked with him on oil and gas diving projects.

Yeah he’s quite a character. I haven’t seen him for 13 years, hoping he’s still well.

I would pass, those chamfers are overpolished.

I’m kidding

So this is the real deal? I like the insert, case markings and the square crownguards. Very interesting watch. Did your friend sell it for a haul, or did he not understand what he had?

That one is thrashed enough that some tasteful laser welding wouldn't be such a bad thing.

I believe that this will be real, yes. One of two batches, my own being from the earlier one. Think I paid about £2,300 for mine just after the millennium which was then followed by some correspondence with Henry Hudson. They seem to have been in use at the same time as the A/6538s and are now much better recognised, certainly among those who specialise in them.

This one is in less than optimal condition, but it's probably had quite a life!

Now that's how a MilSub should look!! Maybe the case-back deflected a bullet!

Very cool watch, battle scars and all.

Not a bullet, but notched so someone could use a generic case back opener.

There is a picture floating around on Hodinkee of a Tudor 7928 that actually did deflect a bullet in Vietnam... That is a cool story!
