Jaeger-LeCoultre (JLC) Reverso - AD Discounting
Hi all,
Since any Rolex seems to be unobtainable these days I have turned my attention to other grail watches such as the Jaeger-Lecoultre Reverso. While it would be nice to buy new, I understand these take quite a hit in value as opposed to a Rolex (not that I am planning on selling, however keen to buy right). Does anyone have an idea on what discount is realistic? Much appreciate. |

Yeah, I’d say 15-20% on stainless steel models is a reasonable request. 20-30% on precious metal models.

I think I can achieve approx. 20% off locally, although it is rose gold RRP $24,000.
May be worth travelling for up to 30% |

My AD gave me 20% off of mine, and I didn’t even try.

6 grand for a classic Reverso with a 20ish percent discount is a steal compared to what I’ve become used to in Rolex land. Had no idea discounts like this were to be had. It looks like they have a 8 year warranty now too. Any thoughts on Rolex vs JLC? I’m obviously going from an incredibly versatile watch to a dress watch. I buy my watches to keep, but as the OP said, the massive depreciation is a tough pill to swallow even if it’s a mental thing. What kind of depreciation should I expect? I’ve had my eyes on the Reverso for over 10 years, but haven’t been following the lineup. They’ve simplified it a lot it seems over the years. |

20% sounds reasonable. However will still take a bath on re-selling if that’s a consideration.

The Reverso is a gorgeous watch and is much nicer than Rolex. A 20% discount off of a steel model seems fair but be prepared for a larger hit if you should sell it. Hopefully you won't. I've had my Reverso for over 15 years and I love it.

I'm also in the same boat. Love that blue Dial duoface tribute the have. Dealer put it on brown strap for me to see, and speechless. Never talked prices yet but good to hear 20% is feasible.

It is beautiful JLC. I am in love with that burgundy version. I’d love to own that one day. I too have moved on from Rolex. (Still love the watches) I am almost calling quits with AP as I am going on a year two holding pattern. Back on JLC, 20% discounts? Sweet.

I got mine as a wedding gift (completely unbeknownst to me) and my then-fiance told me they (a JLC boutique) just offered her a 12% discount without her asking. So she took it. She also got hers too at the same time. Don't think she knew she could ask for a bigger discount, but I'm not in any way remorseful that we couldn't get more discount. I absolutely love the watch and it's not something I'll part with, until I die of course.
