First gold Rolex
So Im looking to buy my first gold Rolex. I’ve had my mind set on the 116508 with the green dial. It seems like it’s going to be impossible to get from my AD. So my next choice would be the 116508 with the matte black dial and champagne sub dials with the red accents and second hand and my AD said this may be easier to acquire. Should I “settle” or wait for the green dial? My birthday is coming up next month and I wanted to treat myself to a gold Daytona.

Never settle my young padawan. Settling leads to regret and regret leads to the dark side

I recommend always waiting to get what you want. Don’t settle, you’ll regret it later.

I concur that option b is actually gorgeous, and one of the nite underrated Pm Daytona’s, but don’t settle. You’ll just end up buying two watches, I’m waiting for the green dial myself.

If you know what you want hold out for it. Don’t settle. It will save you in the long term

Having had both, I can unequivocally say that I much prefer your second option.
But hey, you gotta do you... |

Your next choice looks way better than the first in the flesh IMO.
But get what your heart desires

I was in the same situation and love the PN dial. Think I prefer to the green dial now

I would look for the best price I could get which means I might buy the 116508 black dial champagne sub dials on the resale market for as big a discount as I could get. Keep your name in for the green dial at your AD. Wear the black dial until the green dial comes in then I would buy the green dial form the AD. Or if you have to buy from the AD buy now and ask for the green dial and then sell the black dial later. I wouldn't wait because you can have the PM Daytona now for your birthday, and you can still get a green dial later. Waiting for the green dial is too much of an unknown even with a purchase history, no one knows how long the wait is.

Settling is the quickest way to buyers remorse. Just wait it out.

I agree with everyone else. Don't settle. Once you factor in sales tax savings, you're really not that far apart in price if you just buy from a gray.

Make sure you really want the green dial and are not just getting hyped into it.

Buy the watch you want. If the AD can not get it look to our Trusted Sellers. For a watch that is pushing 40k plus tax you should be close. Remember asking and getting are different things so ask the sellers for the best deal.

Agree, NEVER settle. My feelings is to ALWAYS think 10 years from now. In other words, will i still be in love and use her a decade from now.
