New to Panerai - 112

All,

As the title suggest I’m new to this brand. I got a PAM 112 a few days ago. Very basic, but as I see it a lot of the classic DNA associated with Panerai. I got an offer to trade this to a 510 in very nice condition with around 2K going their way. I get a second hand, not that important to me, a new movement (nice I guess) but a slimmer case (this I like). The dial seems larger due to the slimmer ring around the glass though. What do you think? Whats the general opinion about the 112 vs the new cases and new movements in the newer models?

Personally, I would not put 2k toward a 510. Both the 510 and 112 command similar after market prices if i'm not mistaken. I also prefer the older 112/111 models, but that's just me.

That trade doesn’t seem to add up. I wouldn’t do it

i had a 112 G serial. it was very nice and well built. not like the panerai these days.

i'm kicking myself now for flipping it. i have gone through a lot of watches and in the end you will come back to the basics.

I guess ”latest and greatest” doesn’t apply here then... Thank you all
