Oh, people...

Was working out of Starbucks the other day (home internet issues ) when this little old lady sat at a table near mine. As she was sitting down, I coughed ONCE and she proceeded to give me a dirty look and promptly took her belongings and got up.

Blame it on Coronavirus, I suppose...nothing like being Asian in Florida.

Sounds like an easy way to have some space to yourself.

I'd call it a win.

Protip - When flying southwest with Open seating, make sure you cough a few times as people board. Sit in the aisle seat and leave the window seat open. They will avoid you unless it gets full.

Many times I've had the only empty seat next to me.

Everyone’s sensitivities are up. I’ve noticed it on the subway lately. If someone coughs everyone suddenly turns to see who it’s coming from, and then it’s as if we’re all quickly assessing the overall health of the person and if we’re out of range of the germs. The reality is that most NYC subway riders are pretty much doomed if there’s a real pandemic. Meanwhile certain people in the New Jersey suburbs are hoarding designer surgical masks for trips to the Wendy’s drive thru window.

I'm not Asian but this gave me an idea. In any crowded place I will start coughing to gain some space.

We're taking the kids to Disney this weekend (Orlando is right around the corner for us) and my wife was like, is this a good idea?

I told her you can't stop living your life, baby! We're going to the happiest place on earth, death virus or not!

Consider yourself lucky, when I went to Starbucks and actually bought a coffee and cake, there was no place to sit. Most of the people were not patrons, had to drop the cake and took a paper cup instead. Nowadays, I avoid Starbucks and just go to other coffee shops.

Lots of Asian people in Florida. A whole section of Orlando is Asian. Please don’t start with this type of talk. Your much above that.

Lolol.

Why do people insist on being the sensitivity police?

If he's asian and coughing, someone is going to think "Chinese Corona Virus"

Stop trying to be the moral sensitivity hall monitor.

Jpeezy was talling about himself and you still acted like it'a offensive. Jfc.

I’m not. That’s total BS. Actually it’s offensive. It’s a personal attack on someone you don’t even know. It’s in itself a judgmental on baseless perceived judgments. It’s hypocrisy.

We did this when traveling around Europe by rail. We would take overnight trains and book a couchette. While boarding, my friend and I would take turns having cought/moaning attacks. People would start to come in and then move on. We often had private rooms.
