TRF generosity in London.....

I saw yesterday that a number of the UK members of this forum and another Rolex forum have been going out and accosting people on the street and giving them a Rolex. Basically just walking up to strangers and looking at their wrist, and seeing no watch or a cheap watch, and giving those people a Rolex.

This apparent good deed was to counteract the negative news of people having their watches stolen in London.

When interviewed one of the elated recipients showed off his new watch and stated "this is the best city in the world". Unfortunately with all the media attention, his watch was later stolen but at least he was able to enjoyed the good life for a short while.

When asked about the generosity, the TRF member merely replied that he had a glut of Rolexes at home and he wanted to do his bit for his city, so out he went and donated to a stranger, and Bob's your uncle.

To which the American interviewer had no idea what he was talking about since he didn't have an Uncle Bob. He asked the gentleman if he could have a Rolex too and he was told to sod off.

I thought it was a nice gesture for their city and a chance to get those dormant Rolexes back in circulation.

And so begins TRF's first 'divestment' thread.

Well played.

TRF generosity in London.....

I’ve been drinking for several hours as we are hibernating from the storm today. I don’t know who is more drunk, me or you?!

What a great post. The American interviewer was told to come back in a fortnight and he might get one given..

Great.

On two different threads I'm a pothead and an alcoholic.

And I never touch either,.....well except for the alcohol part.

But I don't believe you have to drink to have a good time.

Ok, yes I do, but actually I'm jetlagged after a 2 1/2 hour flight from the old country and crossing a timezone and a seeing snow. It was traumatic.

It’s not s bad idea. Some members on here have so many Rolexes they could be classified as hoarders.
