Does the pelagos overtake the sub for daily?
Howdy all!
I have a chance to buy a new 2 line eta version pelagos from an AD at a good price (with the new 5 year tudor warranty) which is intriguing to me... Do any of your Pelagos owners have the watch being worn more than your submariner? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

i wear my pelagos WAY WAY WAY more than my 116610lv.
but not as much as my daytona or pepsi. pelagos is an utterly wonderful watch. comfortable, legible, tough, with killer details. plus my mom wears my sub daily. she’s 77, has given me so much, if she wants to wear my green watch she may.

How are you able to get a 2 line ETA new from the AD? Is it new old stock?
I got one almost 5 years ago and prefer the ETA version over the in-house as it's slightly slimmer which helps as it's quite a thick watch already. For about 3 straight years after getting it, it became my daily wearer relegating my Rolex watches for just special occasions for a while. If you get it you will get a lot of comments and compliments from WIS and ADs. Some ADs may even give you special attention as they think you are a watch geek rather then a watch snob and be more interested in other watches besides Rolex. Also titanium gives it the perfect tool watch stealth look if you prefer to have a quality time piece that doesn't draw attention to itself. |

It’s new old stock but I’m intrigued about the new warranty extension and i might be getting tired of my 114060 sub and this could free up funds for this watch plus another banger like a new el primero re-edition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Anyway back to Tudor/Rolex talk, my take, get the ETA Pelagos, it's slimmer and discontinued so who knows maybe if the brand/watch captures the public's imagination you'll be laughing. Try and get a good discount if you can, I got a great one at the time, almost 30% but that was because the new in-house had just arrived. |

The current quote I have is $3700 ttl.... My problem is that I keep second guessing the 114060 sub. It’s worth so much now that it’s hard to not want to flip it for a couple other watches (which may be more of an insight of my feelings for the watch).... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As for second guessing when to sell and losing future appreciation, my advice is there is never a right time to sell based on that criteria as Rolex watches always slowly appreciate over time, just not as crazy as it is right now with certain references. If you keep holding on and waiting then you'll miss out on getting other great watches. The fact that you are interested in a Pelagos and an El Primero suggests that you actually enjoy the different qualities of watches and collecting rather than flipping for profit or "investment" which is commendable and refreshing to hear as most posts seem to be obsessed with re-sale value nowadays. It's as if the Rolex WIS has given way to newly minted speculators over the years on this forum. FWIW a black Sub is like the BMW 3 series of the Swiss watch word, a classic firm seller but also ubiquitous, a fairly common sight in the wild and also always readily available to the masses on the secondary market. You can always get one back at a reasonable price compared to the other hot models right now. |

Pretty equal wear time for me, but I prefer my SD4k the best for comfort reasons.

I tried on the Pelagos a few months ago. I thought it was a pretty sweet design, but wore a little large on the wrist (?). If only the Sub was as light, though!

Nice watch but so much chunkier than the sub. The case used to cut into my wrist and the deployant was comfortable but bulky.
I liked the depth of the face although the Matt finish wasn't my favourite. I had the manufacturer movement |

Little big for me but it’s one hell of a watch for the money.
Lightweight titanium, clever clasp design for ultimate comfort, nice matte dial and amazing blue and LHD options. That said just too big and I’d much prefer a bb58 as a daily. |

Best wearing dive watch anywhere. Between the bracelet and the light weight you barely know it’s on your wrist.

I just got my LHD Pelagos, and this watch is replacing my deepsea. I find it much more easy to wear daily, based on my circumstances. It’s more of a day to day watch. I guess depends on what you want, Rolex is definitely more flashy and well recognized, but I want something more subtle. I will pick up another Rolex down the road, one that I wear on special occasion.
