AP House London - GTG?

Any interest in a get together at AP House London this coming May/June?

I'm trying to gauge interest in how many here maybe interested, just as a ball park number for now.

Also, as we all know, there are many models that are so elusive that they aren't often available to be seen, let alone touched, such as the RD2 that I was playing with yesterday. So, I'm wanting to build a model list to put to AP so that they can get them in for us to play with.

I've had a chat with AP and they like the idea. But for now this is just me testing the water, so that I can go back to AP with some proper ideas etc.

If this happens, then it will a good way for any of you that haven't yet experienced the AP House concept to see for yourselves what it's all about and also to 'press the flesh' with AP and start building one to one relationships.

So, hands up those that are interested and please also post model references that are of interest (no promises that they'll be available though).

Nice idea! I’m definitely interested. I’d need to tie it to a work trip across the pond but I would like to keep up to date on the details.

Enjoy your trip, but unless it ties in perfectly with something else you've got going on then I don't think you'll miss anything in May/June :) We may miss you though...

If it is June, might be a good excuse to use my Wimbledon debentures for the first time in years! Will give it some thought!

No golfers allowed. It's the ONLY rule. :)

I promise I won’t bore the non golfers with handicap chat etc!

What will the gathering involve? Drinks, trying on special pieces etc?

Golf and AP go hand in hand. You won't be alone, Ash and myself are golf nuts and if Conkers makes it, he's not afraid of golf chat either.

No formal plans at all as of yet, I'm just testing the water as to numbers. If there's a lot of us then that makes things a little more interesting. If there's just a few then maybe we can go and get dinner afterwards?

AP will look after us. I can't speak for them and I don't want to make it sound as though I do, I've simply started the ball rolling with them. But, if we make this happen, then AP will for sure showcase some true novelties for us though, and maybe by then there will have been some new releases.

I've asked for May/June as that means the weather will be kind but that the vacation season hasn't really kicked in.

Else, it's all to be decided.

Sounds like this could be quite a gathering! The previous gtgs, if I recall correctly, have been just four of us (all decent types though!). Thumbs up to Gary for initiating it. As it develops probably best to create a private whats app group to go low profile.

If we could actually end up with a dozen on the day I'd be really pleased. Equally though, it would be nice to have a proper bash, 20+.

Early days of course, just an idea at the moment, but time will tell, excuse the pun.

The date will be whatever it happens to be. Hopefully it works for most of us, if not then maybe we can do it again next year...getting way ahead of myself of course.

I met Conkers (Roger) last year, I met Ash and Chris a few weeks ago, no such thing as too many APers in a room.

As time progresses and we get some proper idea of numbers, then I'll create a list, and ultimately, nearer the time, create a WhatsApp group, as Chris suggested.

This is an 'everyone is welcome to the AP family' policy, as it should be, owners and prospective owners alike.

I’ve wanted to try on a steel RO for a long time now (living in Devon I’m miles away) and happened to have a few hours spare in London last week. I needed to go to the GS boutique in Knightsbridge so popped into Harrods after - they had a rose gold which they let me try on so I could get an idea of the fit. I’d be keen as AP is definitely on my radar.

No doubt you met Alex, another super AP guy.

I'll add you to the list.

Late Jun/Jul could be good for me, was at AP House last week and they were offering free drinks if I wanted, well hard not to ask as they are all on display staring at you, but declined as I was going out to eat straight after.

I’ve already tried on everything that’s realistic but if unrealistic grail pieces are on the table then I’d love to try this.

If this GTG happens then why not? A nice one to start the list. I was thinking more 15202, 15407, PC's, other tourbs etc. but why not go straight for the jugular. There must be a prototype knocking around somewhere.

Or, Austen (horoloupe) might visit :) He has one and it's pretty cool.

Interest is growing nicely, so maybe we do have a possibility of a decent sized group. 14 so far.

If someone lines up armed guards I could bring some fairly silly pieces!

Roger in all seriousness you could employ an ex special forces bodyguard for a relatively affordable salary.
