Question on PAM 048 date...

Hello all,

I bought a PAM 048 second hand a couple of years ago (has the ETA 7750 movement) never had any problems with it and it’s been good as gold. Just to get it checked over and to get a new strap, I took it into the Panerai boutique for a full service. Opted for the official route as a service was a lot cheaper than the Rolex service prices I’m used to. Got my watch back and all was fine, as suspected service picked up no faults.

Then I noticed it...

The date advances at 10 to midnight rather than on the hour. I’m convinced I would have noticed it before now as well. I don’t think I would have hurt the mechanism by using the quick set function incorrectly either as I’m so careful about doing so (learned the hard way with a very expensive mistake on a JLC triple date).

So my question is:

1. Is this normal?
2. Would the service centre have missed something so obvious?
3. Does it indicate damage?

Really appreciate your thoughts!
