IT'S HERE, IT'S HERE !!! Red Sub 1680

My Red Sub came back from a light polish, a new crystal and a new bezel.

I saved the old crystal and bezel.

I have purchased a nice 9315 bracelet with 380 ends; not here yet...

Here's the pics

I 69 meters first Red Sub 2,254,2XX serial

I've worn a few grails... BUT none have felt like this when I snapped it on...

If you've ever skydived, you know that springy feeling you have the rest of the day after a good jump? It's kinda like that...

John, you should see if you can get some pic's of the dial that show the chocolate color pop!

I'll have to override the color compensation. The camera is making the dial black, but it's really a dark chocolate... you can tell looking at it, but it is kind of lost in the photos.

I think the chocolate was the very first thing you (Felly) noticed.

That dial is stunning John! It's probably the nicest patina I've ever seen on a vintage piece.

Thanks, I thought it was TOO good when I first saw it... I posted here and asked Mike about it and he said some times Rolex played with "the mix," I guess some tritium lume yellows or browns and some just creams... I lucked out

The slight mismatch of the red overprint on the white SUBMARINER bothered me at first til Mike told me it was normal and I found more examples as I did research.

I'm very happy

There are times in this hobby when it all just falls together.

John, not only do you have a stunning example of the heritage that is Rolex, but being a I/69 one of the earlist examples out there.

What an amazing score my friend!! My most heartfelt congrats on one of the truly special examples of collecting at "the next level".

Well done!!!!
