I, like others, have not been impressed with the aesthetics of the Code based on pics thus far. I will be honest that I have not seen one in person but the attached picture was posted on APs twitter account and I thought the combination looked really nice. Amazing what a strap change can do, in my opinion.

Sorry I don’t have a picture of the back but it’s a display back. Check out the Crystal and how it looks in an angle. Pretty cool. I have a 6 1/2 inch wrist by the way.

Each to their own, but I really dislike the distortion through the crystal when viewed at an angle. I see no design virtue in it at all.

I like the case and the dusty lugs, but the dial and hands are still a fail for me, no matter what metal they are made of.

The PC variant is the nicest of the bunch but haven't warmed up to the other versions even a year later.

Nope. It's a dead fish, no reviving it. They need to just take their losses and move on, it's awful.

Despite the negative criticism including from myself at release, I couldn't find any imperfections under the loupe. The thing was built very well and had high levels of polishing/finishing, looked flawless to me, the applied numerals, logo, and markers looked especially nice and very sharp.

At Aus$36000 I would expect the finish to be especially nice.

I like the design.

As I see it A.P. got out of touch with the current market trends and made the code too large. 39mm is on trend. Also the fact that it looks a bit like Jlc, boring, doesn’t help. Both of these are less of the issue on the chrono as the larger size and more going on hides overall design blandness better. So my suggestion for A.P. to fix it is 1. Make it 39 mm 2. Hire better designer and let him/her redesign it 3. Change the way A.P. does the business and actually listen to passionate customers on the forums like this

I don't think AP needs your design suggestions LOL. Doesn't look like a JLC at all, 39 is not the trend and it doesn't have design blandness. Have you even see this watch in person?

It’s just like you have to truly experience the 15202st in person to understand why it is so different than the 15400/15500/15450

Not for everyone and of course I can see why folks may want to compare to DW etc.

It’s like a Patek 3919 - sometimes simplicity of design belies the complexity of the thought behind the design itself and the difficulty, finishing and craftsmanship involved.

I didn't appreciate the Jumbo until I tired it on, I still discovered it wasn't for me and went for the 15400 but I can understand the appeal. I do give it an A on wearability and staying true to its heritage. I agree on the same grades for the Code, but I did appreciate the attention to detail, finishing, and gorgeous case design when I held it in person.

The 202 is pretty in photos and in person. If I need to see a watch in person for it to look nice, that's silly. It should look good in photos and even better in person. Code doesn't do that, at all.
