Rolex Sea-Dweller 116600

Last week I purchased a used 116600 with Box and Warranty Card from Bob’s watches. The warranty is good until 2022. I wrongly assumed that since it came with the warranty card, it would come with original papers. It was only after it was too late to return the watch that I woke up in a sweat realizing that there was no original paper with the watch. I love the watch and do not plan on selling it, but it still stinks having expected to have a complete set. How concerned should I be about this? It seems a little ridiculous to be so concerned about a piece of paper.

Due diligence?

Also Bobs watches would not be on my list of
dealers to purchase from. Your watch should be ok
though. Check with Rolex ...

What paper are you referring to? The plastic warranty cards replaced the paper certificates quite some years ago. Now if you're missing the booklets (instruction manual, etc.), that's a different story...

What's the feedback on Bob's from people that know the pre-owned Rolex market well? I actually reached out to the guy at Hodinkee who handles their vintage watches for some advice on finding a 14270 and he indicated that Bob's would be a good place to look.

Interested to hear others' opinions.

Mainly because of customer service issues I’ve heard
and watch condition not being described correctly .

So the plastic warranty card with the manual and box is the complete set? There isn’t a paper with the day of purchase, model number, etc...?

Buying from Bob’s watches was a good experience. The watch was as described and in excellent condition. They were friendly and quick to respond.

Pretty much. It would be a bonus to have the plastic hang tag(s), bezel protector, and other minutia but not all authorized dealers include those items.

No. All of that info except for price should be present on the plastic warranty card if correctly filled out.

I am elated! I do have the hang tags! You guys are awesome.

Also, working with Bob’s was great. They were helpful, friendly, and quick to respond. The watch was as described. The guy I spoke with actually asked for a wrist shot after I received the watch!

This is the most positive thread I’ve seen today. We need pics of said watch as well.

I purchased my sub at an AD a few weeks ago. I wore it out of the store and haven’t opened the box since. This thread prompted me to see what I have. Here’s the complete list:
-green Rolex shopping bag (which came in handy on the walk home, as it was raining a bit :))
-white exterior cardboard Rolex box
-small paper Rolex folder/receipt holder + receipt
-green Rolex jewelry box
-instruction manual
-warranty card and card holder (name printed on card, not hand written)
-plastic bezel guard
-white watch tag
-green plastic hang tag
-extra links from sizing

Congrats on the watch!

Congrats on the watch!

Got the same 116600 on September 2019 and it came out with that exact package. No papers, except invoice and receipt. So no worries.

Repost from another thread:
any of you guys had the issue with this very bad allignment of the 9 o’clock marker on the dial vs the 45 on the bezel? Mine is off by a mile, I didn’t notice in time but I doubt AD would go in the back and just come with another one for replacement.

That's a 126600 not an 116600

The plastic card bears the watch model and serial. It is "activated" by the AD at the time of purchase so even if not filled in with date of purchase, the warranty started the day of first purchase.

OP, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your watch. I wouldn’t be fussed over paperwork especially since you plan to keep it

Congratulations on your SD4K! Great watch, enjoy it! Did you remove the diver extension from the strap?

SD4K is an awesome diver! Congratulations! Keep the divers extension on, differentiates it from the subs
