Ambien can be addictive and many people report sleepwalking and sleep eating while taking the medication.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...031301317.html If you do start to feeling any side effects you should discuss this with your physician immediately. Also, the problem with these medications is that they interfere with natural sleep and make people need to take these medications long term when they are only meant to be short term solutions. Have you ever went to a sleep clinic and been evaluated for a sleeping disorder? My wife has sleep apnea and uses a CPAP machine. http://www.webmd.com/sleep-disorders...ve-sleep-apnea It's worth getting evaluated at a competent sleep study center to see why you are having problems. Good-luck with your continued treatment. Terry Newton

Try a carbohydrate meal in the evening (Pasta) followed by a banana. Have a cup of camomile tea half hour before going to bed- add a little honey if you need it. Read a book and get blackout curtains. Best to get into a routine to retrain your mind into knowing when it's time to shutdown for sleep. It's like training a child how to sleep. Don't know if you have ever done shiftwork or have alot of stress in your daily life that prevents sleep, but get off those bloody pills. No good at all. Never use achohol to sleep either- that triggers a response in your brain usually at 3 - 4 in the morning.

And all this time I thought it was the tap on the shoulder that caused it.
