Which AP as your one and only ever watch?
Following on from this thread in the Rolex forum, where almost no one chose an AP unsurprisingly, I thought we should have one here. So what would your one and only ever watch be?
Here's what I wrote there. For me it would be my AP 44 RG. It is beautifully finished with different materials and layers for lots of visual interest, has a chrono which I find useful, starts up with just a little shake of the wrist every time - best start up watch I've ever had, and can take lots of different straps; rubber, leather, camo. Plus for a PM piece it is very well balanced, comfortable to wear and between the ceramic bezel and rubber strap the case is very well protected from marks and I barely have one after 3 years. And finally if I have to deal with a service centre then AP is tops for me, exemplary customer service. |

Or this one because it’s the Jumbo |

Difficult choice between 44RG and 44Pt. Depending on which one I am wearing I think that is the better one.
RG take leather straps better and does feel more lux, but Pt can manage much more different colour straps and can fly under the radar when needed. Am starting to think the RG is better in winter, Pt better in summer. So still cannot choose, but it’s one of them ! :) Pic of Pt to balance the RG above |

I would also have to choose the ROO over the RO as the one and only for the reasons that OP mentioned above. However, my choice would be the Ti version.

Has to be my 38 chrono RO panda as it’s really the only AP that fits me well. I’d love a future ROO 39-40mm but doubt it’s in the works

Hopping on Neil's coattails for this one - I would personally be split between my RG44 and the PoG. RG44 is absolutely lovely, so well balanced for being a substantial PM piece, absolutely versatile in terms of straps between leather and rubber, and purely gorgeous.
PoG takes the best parts of the RG44 and lightens it up along with the imperviousness and beauty of the full brushed ceramic - trading off the strap versatility to get there but still quite warm with the grey dial. I swapped the Ti buckle for an RG one to round out the watch and it's been hard to take off the wrist ever since. Decisions, decisions ... no matter what it would definitely be a 44 Offshore!

One and only, 15202.
Part of a few, 26300. I used to own both, the non quick set date on the 15202 drove me crazy, but if it's your only one then it's not an issue as you'd wear it everyday.

If I were to consider this "only 1 watch for life" crazy idea, it'd have to have a bracelet.
Ps. I'm curious to see conkers' response. |

I have several APs but for my one and only it would definitely have to be my platinum DD ,, most comfortable and would be at home at the oscars/Nobel or in the garden plucking weeds

As much as I love my ceramic perpetual calendar, it'd definitely be the ceramic tourbillon ultra-thin.

Although I daily a 15500or on rubber strap and this one comes out on occasion, if I was faced with the prospect of having only one AP this would be the one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
