Green Dial GMT or Blue Submariner 116618

My personal piece is the 116618 Blue Dial Submariner and I absolutely love it but after getting this green dial GMT (discontinued) in the other day I’m halfway considering trading my blue dial out and letting this one sit in the collection a while.

That dial is a show stopper!!!

Which would you choose if the two?

Sub! Not a fan of the flat green dial and also due to the adjusting clasp of the sub. It is more robust appearing too.

Tough call. Looks like you already have the Bluesy (as I do), so I would prob go for the GMT.

This is a real dilemma. The YG/blue sub is a classic in my eyes, but the YG/green GMT reminds me of a casino (which is a great thing)

Another vote for the green GMT2.

The color combination with the black bezel and yellow gold is stunning.

I also would say keep both if possible. Best of both models in YG. Both really handsome watches to look at, I really wanted to add this also, but after the green Daytona I let the chase go.

But if one has to go, I would say let the sub go, you can always reacquire one at this point, new ones are still in cases.

But that green gmt, becoming harder and harder to get, I don’t think I have even seen one in person. Both equal in terms of look to me

I’d have to go with the Green dial GMT. Here’s why - the Sub is replaceable and not going anywhere. Should you decide to revert back it’s easily done.

I have the green gmt and debated both before I purchased. I am glad I went with green! The sub is stunning as well but there is just something about the green and gold that works

The green GMT every day of the week, end then some. It is the coolest of the ceramic GMTs by a country mile!

Having had both, I can say my preference lies with the sub. While the green dial is nice, it just doesn't have the depth of the blue sunburst dial of the sub. Not to mention, I think blue and gold are a stronger combination than the green/gold.

My opinion is I wouldn't trade the bluesy away...together the two make an awfully nice pair.

It would be a great two watch combination if you could pull it. If a one and only, I would go with the Submariner. I own a Hulk and have the green covered. Best of both worlds would be a YG Submariner in the Hulk green.
