Hi,

I accidentally dropped my fairly new TT YM on my bedroom floor. The impact wasn't that loud, I think... because of my wood flooring (cant really remember I was scrambling and screaming to save it from hitting the floor). Physically the case, bezel and crystal looks okay and the dials. So far its keeping time with the rest of my watches. Should I have it checked?

Just keep an eye on it. It wouldnt hurt to have it checked if youve got a good, trusted local watch maker or very good relationship with an AD; but I wouldnt send it off just yet. Just watch and see what kind of time it keeps

Should be ok, my Sub has seen the floor a few times, and is fine. If the timekeeping changes take it in.

Agree with this. No reason to take it in if it is running fine.

i think it should be fine, im sure the movements are designed for a larger impact than that, but i completly understand where you are coming from. although its fine, im sure i would take it to a AD just to make sure everything is fine

I would wait and see if it develops a problem before taking it in!!!

If it is keeping good time within COSC specs I wouldn't give it a second thought!

ouch....just keep an eye on it. any signs of trauma, take it to RSC.

At least timber is softer than concrete or ceramic tiles

As said above just watch it for a few days.

It's been 12 hours since the tragic accident and it seems my watch is okay. Thanks for all of your suggestion. Will be wearing the watch for the next days just to make sure.

If the movement was damaged you would know right away. It's highly unlikely that it will suddenly develop problems a few days after the fact.

You'll be ok..just make sure it doesnt move counterclockwise then you should be worried...

You set the time played with all the other functions and it still works good? If so then you should be fine.

Set the watch to www.time.gov and monitor it daily for the next week.

I dropped my motorcycle helmet once... took it to the courthouse and put it through the x-ray machine - the interior shell was all cracked

Always worth having someone check it out

Seriously now: If you dropped your helmet, ( I trust that it was not from Empire State ) and the interior shell cracked SUE the helmet manufacturers.

The helmet is supposed to protect your head by absorbing the energy of the impact via the graduall compression of its filling (polysterine or similar) after the outer shell has evenly distributed the point hit to the total outer shell construction ( egg shell theory ) and the total inside area in touch with your head area.

If it cracked on its own without your head in and from a drop of 3 - 4 ft IT IS DANGEROUS> BEWARE
