Icon2 ► Carbotech Tech Info

can anyone share more technical info on panerai's carbotech material? a few questions i have in particular:

1. is the carbon fiber built in layers like 3d printing or is it formed from a solid piece of carbon fiber and trimmed down?

2. generally carbon fiber does not break, it shatters. is the same applied with carbotech?

3. how does carbotech compare with its steel counterpart? i can only assume replacement and service parts are higher on the carbotech due to material production.

ultimately, im trying to figure if the carbotech premium justifies the costs to steel counterpart

Carbotech is made of sheets of a polyether ether ketone with thin layers of carbon fibre under high pressure with a regulated temperature.
