Polishing: before and after pics

Curious to see some “before and after” AP servicing/polishing pictures.

I’m specifically interested in work done by AP themselves.

Maybe there’s another thread on this? Wasn’t able to find in a quick search. Feel free to point me that way if this is redundant.

I tried doing this research last week because I wanted to get a small ding fixed on my bezel. This was the only example I could find on Google. It’s an amazing read and extremely educational especially learning how meticulous Clearwater is. The final results in this article is impressive, see photo included.

Just browse chrono24. Many polished pieces there and most of the ones that are for sale and less then 10 years old only had one polish.

True there are many polished pieces on C24 but I think OP wants to see the quality of work that AP does themselves. I would be interested as well. I just recently landed a never-polished 15400 but it took looking through many many (badly) polished examples before I found it. I think the level of difficulty and complexity of the case finishes and shapes makes it nearly impossible for anyone other than AP to get good results.

Polished and with the correct satin finish on the sides one can almost assume it’s done by a proper “service center”. “Good results” is pretty subjective, a polished watch is always a polished watch and a knowledgeable enthusiast will be able to tell the difference.

As you mentioned 15400 i searched for the reference on chrono24 and clicked on a piece in the first row: https://www.chrono24.com/audemarspig...id14594961.htm Most people will say it’s stunning and well polished, with that said one can still clearly se that it has been polished.
