20 Red Subs and Paul Newman Daytonas

I just got back from shopping on and around Bond Street in London. I couldn't believe how many Red Subs I saw. I never really paid that much attention to them until I found this forum. Anyway, in the course of an hour I must have seen at least 20 Red Subs and a bunch of the Paul Newman Daytonas. There were at least two advertised as Paul Newman and several others that looked exactly alike, I am not sure of the exact difference. Almost every shop had a couple of each. In addition, there was this antique Rolex shop that had Rolexes dating back to the early 20's. They advertised watches from every birth year and it looked like they had them. I even saw a brand new Rose Gold Daytona. Never even heard of that before. I think London has to have the best Rolex shopping in the world. Cant wait to get back out there.

The antique watch shop you saw has a very bad reputation. A search on VRF will give you an insight into the frankenwatches that they stock.

However I still like window shopping at the other Rolex dealers in the arcade. Its a great place to view the more exotic models.

I am doing the London "tour" tomorrow! I hope that I don't see something that I like as I am all spent up at the moment!

To be honest that canīt be true!!!
Would definetely like to see some pics.
Could you arrange that once being in the shop.
The shop must be somehow "mysterious".....

The shops you are talking about are in Burlington Arcade near new and Old Bond Streets. Very expensive.

This is the shop with the Rolex's by birth year. I would not spend my own money in there.

I was there in September. Great range however all the dealers in the Arcade are overpriced in my view. Also all I will say do your homework when looking at a PN Daytona.

Not interested in buying either, but I know they are popular here. So many choices.

Lots of great watch models. Even with the softening of the UK Pound Sterling, I think the prices would be very high, but I guess those models are expensive anyway.

Also the cost of rent on the premises in that location of London must be horendous so they have to pay for that somehow.

Bond Street....reminds me of Monopoly.

Now a very interesting version of Monopoly would be "Rolex Monopoly" one goes around the board buying different Rolex models and selling them...just make sure you don't buy a frankenwatch and end up having to spend 2 spins of the dice getting your money back.

Those pictures are better than I could do...a number of shops like that with multiple old, classic models.
