Who here has no expectation of expanding their collection?

I personally feel that I have no urge to expand my collection. I don't want the watch to "wear me", as I've seen said here before. I like wearing my YM Monday-Thursday at work and the Day Date for weekends and formal nights out. Rolexforum definitely doesn't help when it comes to staying put, but I don't think another watch would do me any good besides the joy of having more. I've got my bases covered.

What about everyone else? My main hobby is playing and collecting guitars and I've gone from owning 30+ guitars at one time, down to 14 and I am comfortable at that number as they all get play time. Before, I would only pick certain guitars up just to say I actually touched them that month.

Definitely think not wanting more and more is a healthy attitude. That being said, I'm definitely not done with the two watches I have... Guess my field just comes with a couple of more bases.

Cheers

I’ve got 14 and that’s too many. Every time I sell some I just replace them and realise I’ve got a problem.

I'm the same way, but with a sub and a DJ41.
And if I'm traveling or playing rough, I us an old beater seiko.

I’m pretty content and have been for a while. If one comes in, another has to go.

I have two Rolex and waiting to see if anything new comes out that I'm interested in from Rolex. If not, I like the Omega AT 8900 on leather. That would be it.....I think..

Im down to just my Daytona for over 3 years now and no interest in anything else. With the pandemic i mainly wear my AW. With each iteration it becomes almost a must wear. I'll keep the Daytona because it's so nice but won't be buying anymore mechanicals. I believe in the next 5 years most people won't even wear them.

I think a two watch collection makes sense. When one is in for servicing you're still good to go. And agree one casual and one more formal or dressier.
Do we really NEED more than that?

I want to thin my modest collection to just one. Maybe two if I keep a dress watch.

But like you, I like guitars and just one will never do. Same with amps.

Come December this is one watch for going on 10 years, and I don't have a reason to need two.

The eyes of man are never satisfied OP. If you're not content with what you have then you will never be content with more. That is true even in this hobby. We are fortunate enough to have these. You have a good pair and you wear them on the regular. Also good to hear that you went down on your guitar collection and are actually enjoying them all.

There's no use to hoard things and line them with a veneer called a collection. Wear the watch and own your things, not the other way around.

Boom! I'm thinking of going for an OP as an only watch... seems perfect for many different occasions, and especially suited for daily wear.

I don't I have the only watch I want and wear it daily as a tool watch. GMT Master ll (BLNR) with new movement and Jubilee bracelet, it's perfect.

Every single watch I buy, I tell myself “that’s the last one” then I find myself buying another one!
So I came to be in peace with the idea that I AM ADDICTED. But don’t want treatment

Barring unforeseen circumstances, I am pretty sure I am done. Funding other priorities right now, and another watch seems superfluous to me at the moment.

I really was trying to keep it at 3 until I had recently picked up a PAM111. And still want to add another (5513) which I have been fighting myself with over the recent months. Guess it’s never ending at this point !

I'm waiting for a non Rolex and actually wish I'd not ordered it. Unfortunately the money is paid. Other than that no more coming in the foreseeable future.

I had 19 but just sold 3. I plan on replacing my 116233 with a 126333 as I feel that 36 is too small for me. I am very content at where I am in my collection. All get used. I love my watches and use them regularly. I have other things I want my money to go towards at this time.
