Is it overkill to buy a 14060M when I already have a Sea Dweller?

I am considering buying a 14060M from a forum member but already have a Sea Dweller. Are these watches too similar to own both? Besides the SD I have an Omega Planet Ocean and a Speedmaster Sapphire Sandwich. Either the PO or Speedy would have to go to fund the 14060 (I have already posted the Speedy for sale as it is still brand new).

The reason for wanting the 14060 is because my SD fits like no other watch I have owned and the SD's looks are superior, imo, to both Omegas. Also, the PO isn't the most comfortable watch in the world and the Speedy not rugged enough, imo.

So, does anyone own both? If so, are you glad you do?

If you have either the SD or 14060, would you buy the other if they were going to make up 2 out of 3 watches you own?

Another watch under consideration is the GMT Pepsi

And a wrist shot for good measure:

The GMT Pepsi is another animal however.

It's not overkill if you really like the design. Hey, its your money and you should grab what appeals to you and enjoy it!

If the Speedy can withstand the tortures of going to the moon, I'm sure it's rugged enough for Earth activities.
I say keep the Speedy. I had the 42mm Planet Ocean as well and it was a little too heavy for my wrist so I picked up the Sub. I say get the GMT II if you want something a little different with a similar look.

I own a Sea Dweller and have often thought the same question, I do love the looks and clean lines of the 14060M but IMHO it is just to close in looks to the SD, I think your collection is well balanced with distinct differences between all your watches to give you that feeling of a change when rotating the wearing of them, like me, the very fact that you have asked yourself the question may give you a good indication of the answer.

I do know your feelings though, the 14060 is a watch that I seem to come back to with regular frequency.

I really think you will find it like wearing the same watch, if looking for something really different I would look at the GMT II or the exp series

I think it would be for me. I think a white EXP II would go great with the SD.

I've had both, and liked the ND Sub better, as it wore closer to the wrist, was less top-heavy, and would disappear easier. That being said, I just bought another SD two days ago, and will get another ND Sub (COSC version) later in the year. They're both great watches, and aren't really much of a comparison (in my opinion). To anybody else, they're the same watch (it took my wife about two minutes of staring at the picture of each to see the difference, which is really only the date function to a non WIS).

If you can afford both, go ahead and get the ND. While it's a moot point (and is considered speculation to most), the newer COSC (or SCOC) version will likely have a much shorter run than the non-COSC version, as Rolex will probably retire it next year at Basel. Look back on the 5512 and 5513 as historical examples...the 5512 was only made for a few years, hence there are a lot fewer than the non-COSC 5513. Personally, I like the 4 lines or writing, so I'm going w/ the COSC version.

Good luck.

I would keep the Speedmaster and dump the PO to get the Sub.

the 14060m in my opinion is hommage to the original sub 6538 or 5513 in its classic and pure raw form. It would be a great compliment to your sea dweller.

It would be redundant if you had a sub date and a sea dweller.

I have both the SD and the 14060M. Love both. The 14060M is my daily beater. not too flashy, not as expensive as the other sports model and a classic too. Get it if you're able to. Both are keepers...

I have a 14060M and 2 SeaDwellers, as well as a DeepSea. It is DEFINITELY a similar look, but the feel is different for me between the ND and the SD. The thinner, better wrist-hugging 14060M is nice sometimes, but sometimes I want a little smaller dial with the added thickness of the SD. Now, as to why I have 2 SDs..........That is a whole other story.
