Oyster bracelet on BLNR batgirl
Hi watchfam,
Hope you are all well. I am wanting to hear from this of you who have mounted the 78200 oyster PCL bracelet to the 126710BLNR using the jubilee springbars. Does the fit between bracelet and lugs feel tight, have you noticed any excess give over time or any other compromise to the watch? I know this has been discussed before, but just wondering if anyone can offer any comments after a prolonged time on the wrist. Thank you so much. |

126710BLNR with Jubilee Bracelet
Mommy, "Why do we call the beautiful Rolex 126710BLNR with Jubilee Bracelet batgirl"?
Honey, "We just do, I don't know why. Ask Daddy when he gets back from under the bridge."

Apparently a bracelet change would change the nickname back to its original nickname bc nicknames now change with bracelets not bezels.

Batgirl is the GMT I'd choose if I were to buy one to benefit from the longer PR. I prefer it's more glamorous jubilee bracelet for that look though!

Both Batman and Batgirl are beautiful black and blue GMTs from Rolex. BLNR Batman 116710 is discontinued, and it's significance is that it's the first ceramic bicolor bezel from Rolex which may be collectable in the future as it had a short 6 years run. BLNR with the new reference 126710 is called Batgirl by a lot of people in this forum, and more outside it. Batgirl may be discontinued when Coke is released, and it may be collectable too. Anyone who thinks Batgirl is stupid while other nicknames like Batman, Hulk, Pepsi, etc are ok is ......
We all know the real reason for the hate of the Batgirl nickname. I don't want to get into that as this is a watch forum, and I respect that. By the way I know a lot of people who own the BLNR Batgirl and love the nickname, and use it when referring to their watch. If anyone hates it then it's ok don't use it, but don't bully other people to stop them from using it. |

Who gets to decide which nicknames are stupid and which are acceptable. You either believe all Rolex nicknames are stupid, or if you like nicknames then don't use the ones you hate, and don't try to force other people who like it to stop using it.

You can't force people to change once they've made up their minds. But you can educate the un-informed where the original nickname came from & why the new one is unnecessary. Some people with no horse in this race may follow the wrong crowd. In the current Rolex catalogue, there are 3 iterations of Pepsi and 1 Batman so which one did the trolls decide to change?

Best not to jump to conclusions, BNA/LION hasn't clarified what he means by "stupid nicknames" yet.
