AP 26331 vs PP5960/1A White
Curious for other opinions. Let's assume no price/value considerations. Only long term awesomeness in the collection. Let's also assume there's a 15202 or 26574 RO Perpetual in the mix already as part of the collection.
Would you double up on AP with a 26331ST/IP/OR or get a 5960/1A Patek? I always seem to be drawn to this model but always gun shy, maybe the font of the numbers on the sub dial. |

Some thing like this, it's depends on individual personal preference. You have to really like it in order to spend a lot of money on those timepieces. If you like AP more than PP, it's nothing wrong to have more pieces of AP, but if you like both of them, it's always better to have more than one particular brand.
Don't go with the hype, go with your heart, buy only the one that you really like it. |

I'm not a fan of the 5960 so would be a pass from me, a Naut or Aqua or 5205 would be more tempting.

I remember when I first started collecting I thought to myself, would be great if they came out with a steel 5960 and a platinum Daytona. Both those releases came to pass. At the time of the 59601a release there was a 5980 sitting in the second hand section of the Patek AD near me. Passed on that 5980 since it felt it was too big (whoops), and have always had a soft spot for that 5960.
What I really wish they made was the 26331IP but full titanium and subdials all the same size. Keep the gray with blue sub dial combination, oh, and have an open back. Dreams...lol. Thanks for the feedback all. Looks like double down on AP is the way to go! |

I like and own both. I probably wear the Patek more often but like them both so would be a toss up for me

I don’t consider either hype watches. So in my mind it’s kind of like an obsession with nostalgia (what was a grail watch in my mind fro the past before I could afford it) vs what I’m drawn to now but may feel it will pass as a fad (too big, too shiny).
