Any Opinions?

Hello from Atlanta. I often wondered if polishing my dress shoes and loafers with an automatic watch on is too much for the movement? I am left handed and also wear my watches on my left arm. So 99. % of all brushing is from my left hand. Side note I’ve tried to use my right hand but i always end up putting dings in the floor by dropping the brush. Thanks and Cheers !

I'm pretty sure that Padi has banned members for less than this.

You'll find brushes work better, and won't scratch the leather

The Rolex Submariner...can withstand depths up to 3000 meters, but may God have mercy on your soul if you decide to polish your shoes with it on.

A quartz watch will give you much better results.

Go ahead it is safe.
I do this all the time.
Alternate between hands. Practice to be ambidextrous.

It's just all about health, happiness & family. The rest are just necessary inconvenience we have to deal with.

If men were able to wear mechanical wrist watches way back in WW1, I think your modern variant will survive a weekly shine.

Dang, I hope this is a joke! If not, TRF may be reaching a new level of absurd posts. If I spend 10G or so on a watch and can't even move my arm fast while wearing it, I may start considering a new brand.

OP you have made two classic mistakes that many many newbie posters make. To be honest, this can be a complex issue and you have not given enough information.

First, the rule is pictures or it didn't happen.

Second, in order to get accurate responses the forum needs to know:

1. What color are the shoes?

2. What color dial does the watch have (and if it is a GMT what variant bezel)?

3. Are you left handed or right handed?

4. Did you buy your watch retail for from a grey dealer?

5. Did you buy your shoes retail or from a grey dealer?

Stay safe.
