A Special Addition...
I posted a few weeks ago asking about thoughts on the 15407ST "Skeleton" and got a lot of great input from many people on this board.
After a LOT of thinking of where I want to take my collection, what I was comfortable with in terms of secondary premiums, and where I see AP going in terms of production and the allocations process...I pulled the trigger. I don't think I have to talk this one up. It's not a watch...it's a work of art. I feel not only incredibly fortunate to be able to do this, but I also feel pretty comfortable with the decision. I won't kid myself that I'll ever reach the level to be seriously considered for this watch from AP, and I recognize that and accept it. I also didn't buy this one thinking I'll ever make a dime on it...In fact, I told myself I'll probably lose 20% of what I paid. If I keep the watch and enjoy it for several years, that "cost" has value to me. I did have to give up my Jumbo for it all to work on the financial side and to keep my overall collection in check where I'm comfortable. That was tough because the Jumbo is amazing too, but this (to me) is a different level and evokes very different feelings. The pic here is on a rubber strap - I had the parts ordered from Clearwater and they were fabulous to deal with. The rubber is just temporary and makes the watch more wearable to me, but make no mistake it's more stunning on the steel bracelet. Anyway, there will be many an evening where I stare at this one. I have been dusting off my photography equipment as well and hope to get some nice macro shots of this. If I ever end up with something worth posting I'll be sure to share! |

Congrats, does look surprisingly cool on the rubber strap too. I'm thinking a custom black gator with gold stitching would look ace.

Bold decision. Decisive. Well done!
Also, maybe try blue rubber too. |

What a beauty. Congratulations. I want this for my first AP. Harsh reality is it may never happen from an AD nor without a substantial premium. Enjoy!

Great choice - I would also take this over the jumbo.
Congratulations

Congrats, heavy hitter for sure!
Out of curiosity, it sounds like you picked this up from the grey market? If so, roughly what kind of premium over retail were they generally asking? Hell of a watch, wear it well! |

Also, sorry for the poor picture but it is the dark blue AP strap. It does look black in that photo. I was going to pick up a black rubber as well but decided to wait. I'll post some better pictures soon. Quote:
