What establishment, company or person treats you better than your AD?
I got to thinking of places I’d been more welcomed as a customer than my AD and I realized quite a few places. Open houses for >7figures, Lamborghini, Bentley, Mcclaren and Rolls dealers. They’ve all been acceptive of me and happy to oblige any questions, test drives, multiple showings and the like. Why is Rolex AD’s specifically Mayors so unfriendly?

I fully understand that. However, volume should not be part of the equation when you just go in to ask about the watches in the case. I asked to look at a Root beer GMT II and was treated like I owed them money. I was eventually allowed to “try the watch on” with reluctance. (Meanwhile I was wearing my bluesy) which got no acknowledgment or even a second look. I walked into my Grey with a Garmin on and they happily sold me my bluesy. Maybe it’s just my AD but I get a pompous, you’re not worthy vibe every time I visit. This has made them drive my business to greys. Also, you didn’t answer the question in your response. clearly this is misunderstood. Chick fil a will gladly sell a chicken sandwich to anyone who comes along unless it’s Sunday. My thread and question was geared toward and I believe insinuated places that don’t give every person that walks through the door great customer service. Sorry for not clarifying that. In general, I can’t complain with how I get treated anywhere.
My wife on the other hand gets poorer service routinely. Why do you think the Rolex AD blanks you ?

I would think if you frequent the same AD and buy some high end pieces there, the service and access to in demand watches would improve. Did you arrive in one of the Lamborghinis? That would certainly help them know you were a serious buyer and not just there for a flipping profit.

I think as a generalization, it boils down to how you GENUINELY treat the people who help you, more so than the money you spend with them. To those who answered that they get treated pretty well everywhere they go.....you're probably doing something right and it ain't just spending money.

It may not portray itself here but I’m extremely personable. So I don’t believe that was/is the problem. I am just enamored that I get better customer service from someone who lets me drive their 150k+ car and is happy to let me as opposed to my AD that made it seem they were doing me a favor to spend 40k on a root beer and then 10k on a ladies date just. My local AD, Thunderbird, here in Vegas treats me very well.
Now the AD on the strip is a different story, I dress like a local and am not welcome apparently. (and was ignored) I can go home and be ignored while talking about watches!

When you walk in the store, you count as an "up" for the SA and they are assigned to you until you either buy something or leave, resetting the up. So, when you go in the store and don't buy anything, you waste an up for the SA and they have to wait their turn again. You do this fairly frequently, they will remember you as "the guy" and want you to get out as your killing their up. Now, I understand that is very controversial in that many TRF members feel that AD staff should not dislike tire kicking or professional visiting and embrace the interaction as an opportunity to please the Rolex aficionados whims, but in reality they pretty much hate it and that's going to show itself in short order if one keeps showing up and not buying anything.. Essentially a causality loop of sorts is occurring. You keep going back, not buying anything because you don't like how they treat you and they treat you that way because you don't buy anything...over and over and over. This will continue until you either stumble into a new SA who doesn't have an opinion of you, you actually buy something or you stop going there. |
