New Jeep Grand Wagoneer 100K plus...thoughts

Hey Guys,
Was browsing through car and driver and came accross the below article for the new upcoming jeep Wagoneer at 100K+ as jeep moves into the full size luxury SUV market... thoughts?

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a3...cept-revealed/

The interior is definitely nice and has some great tech/features, not to sure how I feel about the exterior... don't hate it and don't intermediately love it so will probably have to wait and see it in person. Currently own a Grand Cherokee so could be a possible future replacement

Not sure how many people need three rows of seats except Uber and airporters.

Could be a cool vehicle but seems like overkill.

I think the exterior is a no from me. The front and back don’t look like they belong to the body of the vehicle. Definitely wouldn’t pay 100k+ for this when they are superior vehicles on the market from that price.

I have a family of five with kids aged 14, 3 and 5 months. 2 car seats definitely need 3 rows and that’s why we decided on a bmw x7.

You bring up a valid point but suprisingly living in the Tri State area there's a lot of Escalades and Navigators which I think is what Jeep is trying to compete with here.

To be honest once the lease is up on the Grand Cherokee I want the Cadillac XT6 next, the front is so sexy I think they hit it out of the park dunno about reliability as never owned a Cadillac before but looks wise alone think it's great

Yeah I'd be curious to see the sales data eventually as I'm also not sure how many people would be willing to pay 100K + for a Jeep. I personally think if it was priced in the 80-90ish range it would probably do better as it does seem to offer some great tech/features.

For 100K you can have a full size Cadillac Escalade. A Jeep is hardly synonymous with luxury

Lol they are going to have a lot of these sitting around. At 60k, their are better options. At 100k, it’s fully delusional. Escalade, Range Rover, Lexus lx, Lincoln Navigator... they are out of their league.

Considering FCA produces some of the lowest quality vehicles out there, third only to Nissan and Tata (Land Rover, Jag), it’ll be a hard pass from this guy

What airchitect said. And he said all that needs to be said.

I'm not sure who buys this.

Want luxury in a big SUV - Navigator/Cadillac/Range Rover
Want almost luxury in a big SUV - Expedition platinum, GMC Denali etc 25-30k cheaper.
Want bullet proof 4x4 go anywhere in the world - Land Cruiser/Lexus LX

Exactly. In fact I’d probably take a Nissan or Tata product before FCA.

Impressive SUV...at 60-70k. Not 100. They will not sell. Not for 100. Anyone who’s spending 100k on a SUV pays some for the brand as well. Jeep just doesn’t go with luxury.

SUV prices are out of control. I remember when 2nd generation Escalades were $55K loaded.

It’s a Dodge Ram 1500 underneath
(with IRS) and bloated body.

But some brand loyalists will want it.

100k is Landcruiser territory. I don't see Jeep in that realm.

Jeep and $100K do not belong in the same sentence.

Some very good points brought up by everyone and I agree.

Being on my 4th Grand Cherokee as a second/third family/kid hauler I do like the brand and car itself. I think the Grand Cherokee (limited x) is a great looking SUV and offers a lot of bang for your buck 400-500 lease as compared to others in its class Durango, Explorer etc which are more. Thankfully I haven't had any issues with any of them so I can't connect with some of the frustrations other might have in terms of reliability.

With all that being said, I can't see this succeeding for Jeep. The Grand Cherokee is a success because of what it is and what it offers in its class, now in this territory 100K+ it's a totally different ball game especially SUV wise RR, X7/5, Q7/8, Cayanne etc some can be had for even less than 100 and I personally wouldn't pick this over any of those if going that route but we'll see what happens when it comes out.

My sentiments exactly. I can’t see where the justification for a 6 figure price tag would ever come from with this.

Only a die hard Jeep fan would go for that. But I would wait for model year end clearance for huge discount.
