Royal Oak chrono 41mm rose gold brown vs blue
Hi all,
I am on the list for the 41mm chrono in steel with blue dial, but have no clue what the waiting time will be. Lately I have become very interested in the 41mm rose gold chrono, and wonder if anyone has either owned or been able to compare the brown and blue dial versions? Is the brown "metallic" like the blue and will AP do a dial change if I have regrets on my initial choice? Do you prefer the bracelet version (could it be a bit too much?) or the strap version? Please share your pictures if you have any, especially if you have any in natural / outdoor lighting 😊 |

I totally hate brown dials for any watch including AP. The blue dial RG RO is so unbelievably gorgeous. You cannot go wrong with that watch. The blue chrono version is remarkably beautiful as well. Unfortunately it’s not a total in-house movement yet.

I prefer the blue dial on bracelet. I have in SS. Have tried both dial colors on in rose gold. Can’t go wrong with blue dial.

I saw both of them, both looks very good, it's just a matter of personal preference, but blue is always the most sought after for most people.
It's better to get with rose gold bracelet and buy extra Alligator strap to get two looks. If you purchase with only strap and you want to buy bracelet later it will cost you about $28K. |

Brown 26331or is amazing and the dial is not flat. In the light it almost turns golden to match rest of the watch. If you already have other blue dials in your collection go with the brown! Definitely a watch that is more beautiful in person as pictures just do not do it justice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I think, but could be wrong that you can go blue to brown but can’t go brown to blue. I’ve gotten conflicting answers on this in the past.
Also, no reason to compromise on strap or bracelet. Switch between the two |

I think blue but have not seen it in person. I think black would be my first choice if it came in that color.

We just had a thread similar to this and they almost convinced me brown is better but having seen both in person I’d go with blue also - AP blue is just so beautiful

I have seen both in person, IMO the brown looks much better in photos than in person. The shade of brown on the rg roc dial looks terrible. Not particularly a fan of the gold sub dials on the rg blue chrono either. The blue dial on the 15202or or 15400or I think is light years above the aforementioned.

I reckon the blue is sportier, more flashy and imo the more attractive color combo with rose gold.
The brown is dressier, classier and has a warmer combo with RG. |

I tend to agree the blue is better, but it isn't a runaway contest. I had this watch and got out of it because I completely regretted the alligator strap and didn't want to put another $28k into it for the full RG bracelet as the "full bling" isn't really for me (although my God is it gorgeous).
I don't think the brown dial is getting justice here in photos. It looks much better in person than is shown here. I am not sure I'd spend that type of money on it, but it's a gorgeous watch as well that oozes refined sophistication in my eyes. |

I've compared both side-by-side. Brown is so much better than the blue. The whole watch looks more coherent. Blue is too cold to be paired up with a warmer color like rose gold. Blue looks best with SS, Platinum, WG and Titanium.
There is a reason pretty much every watch house has brown dial variants on their rose gold watches and not blue. |

Brown is a more classic look that I think will be more timeless. Blue is trendy now and it looks great as well.
