Rolex Daytona Stainless Steel
Hello all
I am in Dhaka Bangladesh and recently went to one of the resellers of rolex watches here. I was looking for the rolex daytona white dial steel. I was told that they would get it from Switzerland for me. Rolex has a very special meaning to me and my family.. when my father got married to my mother he bought one and now that i am getting married I am buying this one. the reason i am reaching out to all of you here is cause i do not know how to tell if one is fake or not. the store told me they would get me all the papers to placate my fears, can the papers be faked? i do not know how to even tell if its used or new like manufacturing date etc .. and what are y series and z series etc .. if anyone can educate me i would be grateful. |

If you get it from an AD, you should be fine. The late models are either M or V.... good luck!

Take your computer and camera to the dealer when you pick it up.
Take some photos at the dealer. Post the pictures here on TRF. Read the immediate responses in regard to authenticity. ALL before you finalize payment. We are here to help!! |

One of the things you can do is have the bracelet removed to check the numbers at the 6 and 12 o'clock sides with the paperwork. 2nd you can look around the edges under the crystal and should see the serial number in the rehaut for newer watches. 3rd, borrow the jewelers loop and see if you can see the LEC (laser-etched crown) at the 6 o'clock position in the crystal. If the place you're buying it from has a watchmaker on site, have them crack open the back to verify the movement is genuine, if you're concerned.
Can anyone post any pics of the Daytona movement? I'd be curious to see it...
