Very nice pair

Not familiar with the Steeldive, could you give us some background on it?

I've been into the idea of a bronze watch but I feel like you gotta get a new one and create your own patina to get the most out of it. I wonder if it has that metallic/patina smell to it?

If I went bronze this is the model I've been eyeing:

Steeldive, cheap daily beater. Saphire crystal with AR coating, screwdown crown, seiko nh35 auto movt, amazing lume, 120 click bezel, nicely finished. Bullet proof. Available on many websites. This YM style cost 180 euro!. From the same stable as San Martin, Heimdallr. Superb value beaters.

Spent a lot of hours looking at the Oris online. Great looking watch. I was torn between it and the Tudor (with brown leather strap) but never pulled the trigger on either. Maybe someday.

Thanks Ben. The look of this watch alone makes it very attractive, but the specs and price make it seriously compelling. How can you go wrong on a bronze mechanical timepiece for 180 Euros!?!?!?

I have the non-chrono model of the Carl Brashear. I absolutely love this watch. Out of my entire collection, this is the only watch that gets compliments almost every time I wear it! I think its the domed crystal that catches the eye.

Bronze today.

Have had 3-4 bronze watches in the last several years. The Tudor just didn’t do it for me. May try the slate gray dial variant. Had an Archimede bronze diver that was a nice watch. Had a. In chrono Oris Brashear that I liked. Great watch for the money when it was new. Used they are stupid. This is the only one that made it thru the gauntlet of my collection cutting.

Archimede 39mm plain dial, easy to read, can beat the heck out of it. One of my favorites on Eulit Palma Perlon. 2824 ETA. Heat blued hands. Ickler did a great job with this one.
