Replacing faux-tina lume?
Hey guys - I have a PAM 441 which I'm very pleased with. However, I'm finding daytime legibility somewhat difficult due to the brown-ish fauxtina vs the matte black. Possibly it's just my eyes and others have no trouble
Although unorthodox - is there a way I can change the faux-tina for a white or lime green? this would require replacing the lume component of the sandwich dial, as well as the hands Doubting Panerai service center would be willing to do this for me, so perhaps an indi shop? any thoughts/suggestions appreciated |

I doubt that this has ever been done and that you will find someone to do this.
It sound like you´ve bought the wrong watch (for you). So before starting an expensive and likely unhappy experiment you should sell it and buy a PAM with normal Luminova. |

I’m pretty sure Panerai offers your Modell with a different dial as a different reference.

Replacement can be done, yet is the effort and expense worth it. Or, probably, it's better to get a different model with the same features or more with lume you love.

Too much trouble. Simply find another pam that you like.

Sell it. There used to be guys that would customize their PAM cases but it’s not necessary to do anything special like that with so many models to choose from. I had a similar PAM to the 441 and sold it for the same reason as you. Looks great but hard to read indoors. Panerai has come to their senses and started putting out better modern looking lume coloring on their newer models. The old stuff is still there too but if you want something new with a black case look at the new 1096 with white lume.

Not intending to sound a bit facetious, but yes, it will be hard to change something of that nature.
Look into a Pam335. perhaps trade into one, with a little cash on top. Ceramic 1950 case; automatic; domed sapphire - with the white / light green lume. It's objectively better in most ways than the 441! (just my humble opinion).. |
