Need help. Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Chronograph 25859BA

I want to purchase chronograph that is off the beaten path from a Daytona and have a budget of about 15-17k. I happened up on a few ref 25859BA one black and gold dial with white minute and seconds hands and one silver dial with blue hands. The black one is $8900 for just the watch and the other one is $10,700 w/ the full kit. Based on my reseach the value for these are all over the place. Stoheby's and Christie's both showing when these watches did sell at auction the highest they sold for was around $8-9,000. Radcliffe Jewelers had one for sell back in 2015 that listed for $12,900 and had I believe six months worth of bumps. Another seller had one on TZ in 2017 and could not get $7950 for the same watch. I do like this piece but dont want to overpay for just because I like it. In the grand scheme of things resell is a factor but not the priority, I just don't want take bath if I ever want to trade it. There is not alot of information on this particular reference beside a few pictures. I have attached both examples. I want either YG or TT to go with a family heirloom. Are these decent deals or should I kept looking. My other watches that I am looking at are the rolex Day Date 18038 or 18238 or Daytona 116523 or 16523. Please help.

I have no knowledge about the price, but it seems like around $10000 is good price to me for that gorgeous watch if it's in good condition.

Its 9.5/10 condition but as you can see over 60 ppl looked this post and I have one comment. This piece was around $26k new but is not loved which equals to little to no resale value. I would have to love it forever. I wish I had more insight on this one.

If it's such good condition like you said, I would go for a full kit and try to ask the price down to $9500-$10000 and don't worry about paying overprice.

My final offer was $10.5k and he declined, is there something I am missing? This watch is what I am looking for but, it bothers me to pay way so much from what its worth.

The difference is only $200, if you really like it, may be it's worth it.

When I look at the picture of the watch online, it looks like it's worth more than that if it's in good condition like you said. When did that watch has the last service? If it doesn't need a service soon, it would worth it.

I don't see the real thing, so I just guessing. If you don't think it's worth it, just pass and look for something else, there are plenty of watches on the pre owned market.

Hope you find something that make you happy, good luck my friend.

Well thanks for the advice. If it is still available by the end of November I may reconsider. I wanted to post a picture be I don't have enough post yet.

Finally can post a picture

I am still thinking about this piece. A retailer told me it was worth $5700 wholesale. When Jomashop had it the retail price was $16,700, down from 26k. The one that I am looking at the final price was $11,800. The average price of these are $9,000+tax in steel on Chrono24. I think is beautiful but just feel like I am overpaying at almost 12k. I should forget about it, right?

For an unpopular vintage/almost vintage piece like this there is no “market value” as you and the seller are likely literally the market makers. It is simply a matter of what you are willing to pay and what price the seller is willing to let go at. Don’t get fixated on what see on garbage sites like joma or c24. Unless they have a watch in stock and ready to ship their ask is meaningless

Having said that. Look at past auction results. I see one from 2017 for 6250chf + hammer and one from this past summer for 10,000usd + hammer. Hammer is usually 25%
