Harrods London AD - Purchase History
Hi Everyone, new member here.
I have up to now been an Omega man but have always admired the GMT Master II / Daytona from afar. Am kicking myself for not doing so earlier but I’ve decided to try my luck for a Batman or Pepsi (don’t laugh). I am prepared to wait. My understanding is that the various high end watch ADs within Harrods aren’t concessions but are in fact directly owned by Harrods. Can anyone confirm this? If this is indeed correct, does this mean that any spend within Harrods constitutes as purchase history? I have a loyalty card that will have recorded a reasonable spend at the Harrods Cartier boutique and other high end jewellery within the store. I am hoping to use this as leverage to get on the wish list at the Harrods AD. I appreciate that’s it’s not advisable to put all my eggs in the Harrods basket but I don’t see another realistic way. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

I’d be surprised if your spend on Cartier is valued by the Rolex sales people. They are probably inundated with their own customers with big spends demanding all and sundry!

Yes your spend history will count for something but... the are incredibly high spenders in Harrods and so many people in front of you that have bought lots of other watches.
It’s worth a try but be prepared to wait quite some time |

As above, having a loyalty card will help your case. However the sheer volume of millionaire and billionaire customers mean your spend history is unlikely to carry much weight (unless of course it is significant in Harrods terms)
Harrods seemingly have people who spend 7 and even 8 figures a year with them. Moderate spenders for them will likely be in the 6 figures a year. Definitely still try, but just to manage your expectations |

What are people's experience with their purchase history and what watch did they get? |

Someone spending a million quid a year in Harrods probably ranks as a mid-tier spender.
I don't rate your chances of getting a Daytona there... |

Harrods London AD - Purchase History
Harrods AD owned by Harrods, with Harrods employees. Difficult given the aforementioned big spenders. They are some of the nicest people around though. I’m sure not impossible... they like treating/serving all Harrods customers. Worth a chat with them I’m sure. Would be great if you could update us post your conversations.

With respect, I suspect that if you had any “leverage” at all at Harrod’s, you would already know you had it!

Even the black card tier won’t count for much

I was in contact with AP Harrods for a couple of years - emails and a visit. All very pleasant and friendly but went no where. I got some help from this forum and went elsewhere and got sorted very quickly. Harrods is probably a total bubble compared to everywhere else.

As like other places you'll get the same amount of luck in Harrods Rolex section as any other AD.
Black card as said before won't count for much either. I have a friend who is on whatsapp with one of the Rolex SA at Harrods and bought a couple of not hard to get window watches and even so, the most he has been offered is a Rootbeer last Xmas, 2019 before price rise.

The better way to know the answer is to take your loyalty card to the Rolex counter and ask them to register your interest into your Harrod’s account file.
Keep your eyes on their body language. It’s worth a trip if you’re not sheltering in place currently. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
