White Dial Poll: Explorer II or Milgauss?
Hi all, I'm fairly new to this forum, but I have been reading for quite a while now. I must say this forum is very educational, and I have learned a lot since.
Anyway, I currently have the GMT IIc and the YM "platty" and was wondering (if you were me) what white dial sports model would you get next: Explorer II or Milgauss? Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Welcome to the forum. Post some pics of your watches when you get the chance. My vote would go to the Milgauss. That's only because you already have a dual time functioning watch.

Get both. They are both great. I would do the Milgauss first though.

I'm not a big Milgauss fan so I voted for the Explorer 2. Since you already have 2 'flashy' professional models, the Explorer 2 would be a nice addition for a more 'tool' look.

I would get the Explorer II, fantastic watch. I have owned a white Explorer II and a Milgauss GV in the past and I can say that the one I miss is the Explorer II. The Milgauss just does absolutely nothing for me, and I can't get over the second hand. The Explorer II is also a much more comfortable watch to wear, and it has the date. Best of luck with your decision.
Every thread needs some pics. so here is my old Explorer II.

I have both EXP II white and Milgauss white. If it were me, I would get the Milgauss as that adds a very different look/watch to your collection. The EXP II and GMT serve the same purpose in my mind so I would see the EXP II as redundant. YMMV.

The white Exp ii is a special watch. Right up there with the Sub Date and SD as the best Rolex sports watch for me.

Here is the first family pic - of course the other 2 pieces are my wife's.
Hopefully within a month or so, we will see an addition to the family - either an Explorer II or Milgauss. Thanks for all your input, and sorry for the crappy pic. |

I would personally go for the expyII imho reason being that I dont care for the milgauss whiteface myself. That expyII dial is so clean and fresh looking and the white milgauss has too much orange on it for my likes. Cant go wrong either way though. Welcome to TRF buddy GREAT COLLECTION

Thanks Dan P - first choice was the milgauss GV but given there still seems to be a demand for the GV, discount was not what I expected.

I would miss the date too much so def. ExpII, I had one and sold it. Still like it though.
