Is My Bezel Fake?

I clearly do not have an 18k white gold fluted bezel in my SS Datejust. I cannot find a reference to Rolex making the Stainless Datejust with a fluted bezel that is not 18k white gold. Am I being paranoid or are they out there and I just cannot find them?

I know there are stainless bezels but are there stainless "fluted" bezels? The serial number is 8787621 (according to the sales receipt)

Hi,
How about some pics. and the ref. of the watch?
And maybe your bezel has been swapped from a WG to a SS one in the past.

How do you know for certain that your fluted DJ bezel isn't WG?

You need to take the bezel off to see the markings.
On the watch with 8787621 serial number WG bezel would look totally different then SS.
Show us some pictures.

It's hard to tell if the bezel is WG or not. I had a SS DJ with the WG fluted bezel. I wouldn't have been able to tell you it was WG or not.

Fluted bezels only come in gold, there's a stainless bezel thats machined (but not fluted)..Its not called Gold in the UK, white metal, or Rolesor, there are no hallmarks, and you can only call it gold in the UK if its hallmarked, and it has to be the whole case.. A picture would be good.. and the model number of the watch.

X2, Stainless = engine turned, similar to the fluted but without the high polished facets.

Agree. On a contrary, it a bezel is indeed fake, then it could've been made out of stainless steel to look like white gold one.

You may just have an 'engine-turned' bezel which is all steel.

That is an engine turned bezel, and it is stainless steel. Your Rolex looks fine, exactly as it should. That bezel is one of my favourites.

The fluted bezel you talk about do not look like that, and it is - as you say - not available in SS.

Best,

A

I knew about the engine turned bezels but when I looked them up last night, they didn't look like mine.

In any event, I certainly do appreciate everyone stepping up, if I can ever assist you with a Cisco VoIP question (I'm a voice CCIE) you just let me know :)

If you compare with the latest style of bezels, there are differencies compared to yours.

Best,
