Exchange Submariner 114060 for FF or Tag heuer 02t tourbillon?
I've found myself bored of the same old Rolex watches, I've had nearly every model in recent years.
About to straight swap my 2019 Submariner for a 2016 Blancpain fifty fathoms flyback chronograph on the x71 bracelet, dealer is also offering a straight swap against a 2018 Tag heuer carrera 02t tourbillon. I'm torn, totally different watches, like the hand finished quality of the Blancpain but would be nice to own a tourbillon also. Anyone have any experience of either watch? |

They're all boring. They're watches. Really, how exciting do you expect a watch to be? Here's something you could do for excitement. https://youtu.be/bS6CEmQuU2w |

I personally wouldn’t do it but I’d rather take the 02T tourbillion over the Fifty Fathoms if you’re wrist is big enough!

I like the FF but I think the numbers are off in your favor. The Tag is a pass.

Not great options.
You would be better off selling the Sub and just having the money if you're bored with it. |

Never was a fan of the FF and I would not trade one diver for another. I think you should ask yourself why you are bored of the Sub.
I have been there before and found that for me a pop of color and useful complication really holds my interest. If you can get to the root of the issue you might be able to find a watch that you will enjoy for a long time. |

The Blancpain FF is the first real divers watch. Makes it historically interesting, combined with the superior finishing I prefer it over a Submariner. Not with the chrono. That’s a mismatch imho

Submariner. It’s a Rolex forum, what else would you expect here?

I know where your coming from.
Rolex does get boring the longer we are around the brand. They are slow to innovate and updates to their models minute they all look the same. Add to that the Rolex collections are all the damn same everytime - yeah I've been looking at AP/Patel even JLC/IWC/Glashuette Original etc.... In saying that I would not trade for a Tag - maybe a Glashuette or JLC. |

Honestly having the sub is as good as having cash on hand. If you’re someone who quickly gets tired of watches, you will be better off with the sub or else get stuck with some Blancpain or Tags

I’d prefer the standard 5015 FF. You could get one brand new for similar money.

If it was for a new blue titanium FF - i would be really tempted. But the chrono FF, i would pass.
Easy pass on the tag.

Thanks for replies.
I knew keeping the Sub would be the most likely response on a Rolex forum! I just think for the same money on used examples the Fifty fathoms totally outclasses it in every respect. I wouldn't normally be interested in going down a step equally to a Tag Heuer but the tourbillon example is an exception, the opposite of boring too in my opinion. |

i dont think another mechanical watch will be interesting. Maybe try an apple watch? Or go without a watch for awhile and reconsider?
Ultimately this is a hobby, and i bet all hobbies wax and wane |
