Last incoming of the year

Didn't have to wait too long for this one. I'm thinking it will be the last one for this year.

Just a quick word about the wearability of this piece. I have 6.5 inch wrist more round than flat. I was thinkung of getting the 39mm Explorer 1 as a daily wearer. A friend let me wear his Exp 1 for a week but I felt it wore a tad too big, it just didn't look right on my wrist.

The reason why I didn't seriously consider this Air King previously is because on paper its larger than the Exp1 so I assumed it would be too big. However when I had the chance to try one on it actually seem to fit my wrist better & looks 'right', now the reat is history.

I know the AK dial is not everyone's cup of tea but I think its much more interesting than that of the Exp1. I particularly like those little hits of green & yellow colour.

the golden crown and green Rolex font are nice, albeit a bit too busy with the dial. A great watch nonetheless. Congrats

Congratulations

Good information about wrist feel vs the Explorer. I would’ve never guessed the AK would wear better than the EXP1.

I think a lot of it depends on on the shape of your wrist as well as the circumference. When I borrowed my friends Exp1 I didn't need to adjust the size at all.

Absolutely agree with you on wrist shape.

I was just surprised that the larger AK would wear more comfortablely ...

Great choice. I am a fan. I just wish they would have gone with a full lume dial.

I think I know why it wears better on my wrist than the Exp1. Its the steeper drop of the endlinks that makes the watch hug my wrist better. Those of the Exp1 flare out a bit more.

Great watch, hope you enjoy it. It's not the dial, per se that gives me pause, I like the numerals and the green and white, but Rolex clutters up the dial with too much printing, like many of their watches.

The AK was my first Rolex and I love it for what it is. Different. Just put mine on a Everest Black Rubber and it looks and feels great. Congrats and enjoy, you made a good choice..
