126917 BLRO meteorite production question

Anyone have an educated guess to how long Rolex would produce this watch? I know they did a run of meteorite dials for the Daytona (I do not know how many years this was under production... any insight would be great). I would probably use the Daytona meteorite run as a reference. Just curious.

I end up going grey for mine after a few local AD’s mentioned that they never had one come in since it was put into production and that they cannot special order this watch. I saw a small batch come into the market within the past few months and jumped on one. Such a beautiful dial (pics does not do this watch justice).

Funny thing yesterday 12/12/20 I was purchasing my new Milgauss at my local AD and next to me was a customer buying a beautiful GMT white gold meteorite dial .... beautiful watch in the flesh I asked how many they receive per year they say just one .... price $40k

The customer asked me if I buy the Milgauss or I was just doing window shopping hahahaha I say sorry it’s mine ... to bad hahaha

funny you posted this.

My Ad called yesterday to offer me this watch, but at $39.9K I asked if could have the weekend to think it over.

Beautiful watch, but is it worth $39.9K?

It is currently "worth" a bit more than $39.9K.... and if they discontinue it you'll likely see prices increase further. Believe actual market for these now is north of $45K though you'll see many asking prices higher.

IF you don't take it, I'd be interested if you want to make an intro :-)

This is one of the timepieces that I really love to own. I told my boutique/AD that I would really appreciate if I have the chance to acquire one. The owner of the boutique told me that this one is pretty rare, it might comes in 0 to 2 per year and this year already came 1, so may be next year I might have a chance.

I wouldn’t bother with those ADs who mentioned they haven’t received a single one since release. This reference has been out since March 2019, so the ADs with decent allocations should have at least gotten one by now. My AD has gotten three since release and I’m patiently waiting for mine to arrive.

It’s hard to say when Rolex will pull the plug on this reference, but I’d imagine at least another year or two since it just came out last March.

Who knows! I’m just happy I’ve got one. I also went grey for mine was very difficult to source in Europe, I could of got one from AD on special order, 18 months... i’m not the patient type!

The market for these are around 52-55k. I got mine cheaper than that, but considering local taxes I paid about 5k premium for an unworn no wait watch. My purchase history would not put me on any line. They come in batches and then disappear.

That is a beautiful watch and was on my radar. Since I got my meteorite fill with my pepsi, I ended up going ice blue plat with my DD. PM are addicting. My sub feels like a feather now lol.

With Rolex nobody knows. I would never bet on any Rolex being a short run. It’s not common particularly when the current 126719 isn’t long in tooth by Rolex standards.

I asked a local AD in the Bay Area, CA and he claimed he hasn't received one in 2020. Beautiful piece, definitely much more uncommon than your Pepsi GMT cousins.

Amazing dial! I have both Daytona and Pepsi, and both I find sublime! Such depth and play of light! Though I gave a pass to DayDate meteorite. Found it too plain.
As far as I am aware each dealer gets at least 1 to 2 per year. Your dealer obviously had more important clients than you and to save himself the trouble to face your anger he simply told you no watch came at all!
Meteorite will be around at least for another couple of years, how many I believe even at Rolex they have not decided yet.

All the dials are obviously unique and different. Have only seen one and it was otherworldly!

Thanks

Yes you’re right it is! I went platinum for the Daytona :)

I love the GMT but probably wouldn’t have both in the collection. Never say never though :)

I’ve pondered this quite a bit myself. Willing to be patient, but really don’t want to be forced into going grey. Particularly once it’s been discontinued... Amazing watch. Absolutely out of this world.

To the OP, congrats!

To the gent who has been offered one and is undecided, I don’t think you’d be unhappy, but if she doesn’t sing to you let her go to to someone who will truly appreciate her.

I just ordered mine from my AD. 5k down and scheduled to arrive in February. No purchase history with them but they are a local ad in a less dense region.

I find it hard that someone can order a $40k watch, which trades for $52k on the secondary market.

To those that know more about Rolex than I do - why are you all so convinced that this will be discontinued soon?
