Incoming Explorer 1 114270

Recently acquired from Jacek. Loving wearing this everyday so far.

BTW is it just me or do watches seem larger in pictures / smaller in real life? I knew this piece would be smaller on my wrist but I’d be ok due to my 6.5 inch wrist size but once I saw it in person it looked so small at first! In any case enjoying the watch now after having gotten over that mild shock.

Congrats on the 114270. It's a truly great watch. Regarding the size, I have found that most cell phone cameras tend to totally exaggerate the size of our watches. This is my 114270. It was taken with a 2003-era Nikon Coolpix camera. I think traditional, stand-alone cameras render the relative size of the watch more realistically. Hope you thoroughly enjoy your new Explorer. It's a beauty. -Rick.

How big are your wrists as it looks tiny?

My wrist is 7.5". The fit is perfectly fine. In fact, I enjoy a range of watches from 36mm to 43mm in size. They're all good.

I agree. Good to have a variety of watch sizes. Mind you, an Explorer and a BB58 would be a pretty good 2 watch collection.

Looks great. I am trying to get to a state in life to one less, buy better. In regards to that I am thinking about trading my Tudor GMT and Grand Seiko 9F62 for a Explorer 1. I think the Explorer one is a near perfect one watch collection.

Def look smaller in person. I love wearing 34-36mm vintage pieces, but took a min to get used to.
