‘Tis the (JUMBO) Season

Might just be me, but anyone else noticing a decent clip of new or mint 2020 15202STs listed for sale here on the forums?

List prices also strong.

I think prices continue to rise with the 15202. With 5711s approaching 80k, there should NOT be that large of a gap with a 15202 in the low 50s IMO for a much better, subjectively, looking watch.

I just got my new 15202. So probably the factory just put out a bunch of new jumbos.

I just traded in (reseller market) my 15500 for a 15202. Wow -- my favorite watch by a big margin (at least for now). Beautiful, comfortable, the perfect weight. And I value how close it is to the original Genta design.

And who needs a second hand !!

of course, they are being sold by the boutiques to "people who have purchasing history with AP and who therefore won't flip"...oh wait!

I love both and personally agree with you re the 15202 being a better looking watch, though I do prefer the way a 5711 wears and hugs the wrist.
Still if you want a clean steel nautilus, aside from the original 3700, your only option is a 5711.
With AP you have so many versions to cater all wrist sizes.
Sure there’s only one 15202 variant currently being produced in steel, but there are so many past and present time / date only versions(15300/15400/15450/15500/14790 etc etc) that it simply doesn’t have the exclusivity a 5711 does.

Just my two cents!

Not sure if I follow, the 15202 is an ultra slim case which is not the case for the other APs you listed and none of the APs you listed are 39mm besides the 15300. So yes they are time/date only they are still quite different than a 15202.

As you stated 5711 has the 3700 and 3800 for many years production prior to the 5711. So I’m not sure the 5711 is that much more exclusive other than the ideology of being a Patek, not to justify another 30k over the 15202.

Totally agree though, both amazing watches!
