Why stopping the movement is so important if you shatter your crystal.

This is why stopping your movement is so important if you crack/shatter your crystal. This is also outstanding info for our Skydweller owners that want a peek inside their movement.

Not shattering your crystal is definitely the way to go.

Excellent example Mystro! Those little glass shards made their way deep into that movement.

That's really cool and I am amazed with movement service so intricate on such a new watch!

I'm sure this would be unpopular, but is there something other than sapphire crystal that could be used to avoid such a pervasive glass shard issue. Plexi resurgence?

Probably a dumb question.....to “stop a movement”...is the only way to pull out the crown and leave it unengaged or is there another method.

Crown at hack position prevents the watch from starting so is the best option until it can be fixed.

I honestly wasn't familiar with CRM previously, are these guys considered one of the premier non-RSC Rolex service options? Definitely seem to have invested some big bucks in tooling...

Thank you so much for sharing this!

I have such a greater appreciation for watchmakers as well as the functions of the sky dweller! I didn’t fully understand why the case was so big but it completely makes sense now!

That was fascinating. If I had my time again, I would be a watchmaker, I used to dabble a bit with simple clock maintainance and repair, as I have a fair number , but I find watches far more interesting. Unfortunately age and eyesight have caught up with me, and I now find clocks difficult.
