Rolex precision 6694

Just purchased a rolex oysterdate precision. Its a manual setting watch. But when i set it i thought it had a 40 hour power reserve but mine only is set for around 12 hours before having to rewinding it. Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like it needs to be serviced.

Are you winding it fully - wind until it stops?

I think the older ones are closer to 35hrs; 12 is definitely not good. If you wind it in the morning, it wouldn't even last until bedtime.

I believe the 1225 movement was a 40hr reserve when new but these watches are over 30 years old.
12 hours sounds like it needs a good cleaning and service. I would expect at least 30-35 hours after a service.

12 hours sounds like a mainspring problem. I'd like to hear the answer to Larry's question about full winding until it stops.

My 6994 was rebuilt by Tommy Taylor (RWT) in 2015. Still has 40+ hour power reserve. So 12 is clearly way out of spec.

As others have said 30 to 40 hours should be expected so yours sounds like it needs a service.

Usually takes 18-20 full rotation to fully wind 6694. Minimum 40 hours power reserve sound right but not 12 hours
