Fatboi Appreciation

So grateful I picked up the 114060 this summer. A classic, a standard, a beauty.

I tried on the 12 series SubC date and it just did not do it for me. Bracelet too wide. Engorged clasp. Proportions all wrong! All personal opinions of course :) to each their own!

Who else feels some love for the Fatboi now that it’s gone?

Its very nice, not a fan of the new subs either, but would prefer a classic 14060

I got one for my son last year. (Also because I wanted the bracelet for my GMT). It’s in the safe for the next 10 years until he graduates

Who knows what this next generation feels about this classic 10 years from now, after probably another round of ‘improvements’ by then...

It’s either going to a Classic or an Outdated model

Have one of each....for me, not that big of a difference between the two when wearing. Both are outstanding in their own way.

I love my big lug maxi case sub. They don’t look fat to me and the bracelet fits very well...

Have both, but the 12 wears better, it site more balanced on the wrist.
Just my personal opinion though.

In the old days there was a term: “fatty chaser.” Cute nicknames, like fatboi, increase acceptance. To each their own, but it’s not for me.

Will always be a great watch. I'm a fan of both but do prefer the newer by a slight edge.

Sorry, classic is not a term I would use for this watch. I am happy your happy and that’s what matters. But the sub lines were basically untouched from the 70’s through the early 2000’s those were classic subs. Blockier and flashier for the sake of wrist presence is not a classic.

End of an era! You won't regret owning a maxi. Looks great, especially no-date.

I feel a similar way. I find charms in all. I do have my preferences though. But honestly, there are no bad Rolex Subs.

Exactly right.

Even if I personally think the 11 series has more style and unique charm than the 12. ;-)

I have an 11 series and love it but sure I’d be just as happy with a 12 series.

I loved my 11 series but definitely prefer the new proportions of the 12 series!

I respect all who like the 12xx more, but to me, the 11xx will always be near and dear to my heart. I generally don't like nicknames, but for some reason, every time I hear my 116610 being referred to a fat boy, I can't help but smile and laugh.

I think everyone loves the one they're with. I personally like the 126610LN, slightly larger for my 7-1/2" wrist, the lugs are more in proportion to the case, wider bracelet looks more appropriate for the size of the case also. Ymmv.

And the 3235 mvmt. is krazy accurate!
