For sale is a 40mm stainless steel Rolex Explorer II “Polar”. The 16570 is a S serial, circa approximately 1993, and accompanied by its original inner box but no papers. The Rolex features a brushed steel case, which is accented by a fixed brushed steel 24 hour bezel that is engraved with black enamel units. The 24 hour bezel is untouched and has been preserved well, which is evident by the crispness and dark black color of the enamed units. The Explorer 2 is mounted on a 93150 brushed steel Oyster bracelet, which contains 12 full size links and will comfortably fit a 7.65 inch wrist. The 93150 bracelet is stamped with a “W2” clasp code, which correlates to a bracelet production date of February 1995. The Rolex features a white “Polar” dial with applied tritium coated hour markers, tritium coated black enameled hands, and a magnified date window aperture at 3 o’clock. The tritium hour markers and hands have aged beautifully, and acquired an even rich golden cream colored patina. The movement used in the 16570 is the Rolex Calibre 3185, which features approximately 50 hours of power reserve. The case has been preserved extremely well, and appears to potentially be unpolished. The lugs are extremely thick and crisp, and retain their original factory finish. The Rolex also still retains its original caseback sticker. The bracelet contains virtually no stretch, while the cornett is thick, and appears to have never seen a polishing wheel. There are some faint surface level hairline scratches around the bracelet and clasp from light previous wear. The movement is also running flawlessly, while the watch also passed a 50 meter pressure test prior to listing.
