Icon20 Hello, and a question on a Sub 16610.....

Hi TRF,

My name is Ben and I have been a long time lurker on this site, (as seems to be the case for a lot of people!!) as I was researching a Pre-owned Sub purchase.

Well firstly thank you for a very knowledgeable site which helped me immensely (I think, you could probably help me on the following though as to what you think of the watch).

When I purchased the pre-owned Sub date (from 'Second Time Round' in London) I originally thought I had purchased a 1999 Sub date (well that's what was agreed on). Although what they sent through seemed, (to me at the time), to be a 2004 - 2005 Sub date?? I did raise the issue with them and they admitted sending the wrong one out. However let me keep it at the same previously negotiated price.

My local AD was very kind, and gave it a once over, saying 'it looks good to me' as a 2005 Sub Date. He didn't take the case back off so it was just a visual inspection. I've attached a few pics for you to look at and give me your opinions on it.

It has the LEC which the AD showed me under his loupe (Spelling?), a random question which I was wondering was about is where the 'Swiss Made' is printed by the 6 o' clock position. The watch is a 'D 037***' serial and there are two half size minute markers before going to the full size minute markers (either side of 6 o clock marker). Now, looking at other picture posts it seems quite random as to whether the Sub 'D' series or older have this or only one half minute marker either side of the 6 o clock position with the 'Swiss Made' text neatly' boxed at the ends by the next full minute marker.

I suppose my question is why the different dials, is this just to keep the fakers constantly changing too?

And the numbers on the bracelet are 93250 and CL10 if this helps!

Anyway, sorry for the long post, I appreciate you taking the time to look at this post and thanks in advance for any replies!!

The link below should be to Photobucket, I hope they work, if not will amend soon!!
